Dear CPA Members:
We are in full competition mode and the success of our events across Canada is supported and recognized in the USA. The Toronto Pro SuperShow was the first pro qualifier of the year and was a huge success with a record numbers of Pros competing. This year the Toronto Pro was moved to a Tier 2 level, which gives Pro athletes more points to qualify to The Olympia and provided international recognition as one of the top qualifiers to The Olympia. We had four current 2018 Olympia winners joining us in the Expo and meeting their fans, Flex Lewis, Mr. Olympia 212 Bodybuilding; Shawn Rhoden, Mr. Olympia, Bodybuilding Open; Angelica Teixeira, Ms. Olympia Bikini and Olympia Fitness champion Whitney Jones.
The IFBB Pro League and NPC Worldwide have given us unprecedented support starting with Jim Manion, Tyler Manion, JM Manion, and Robin Chang who all attended the Toronto Pro SuperShow. The top Judges in the world were seated at the table including Tyler Manion, Gary Udit and of course our very own Rudy Jambrosic. Next year will be our 10th anniversary and we plan to make it very special; it will be the “can’t miss” event of the year.
Here are some of the highlights to remember for 2020 Toronto Pro SuperShow:
- The date has changed to the 2nd week in June–Mark your Calendar for June 12,13,and 14th;
- Because we have been elevated to a Tier 2 Professional contest this year and in 2020 celebrating our tenth anniversary, the President of the IFBB Pro League and NPC Worldwide has given the go ahead to award IFBB Pro cards to the overall winners of all our 35 and over women masters categories and all our overall winners of the 40 and over men masters categories. To top it off, these special masters IFBB Pro card awards will only be available to our Canadian athletes giving Canada a record number of pro cards.
- This will be the most competitor friendly contest ever with the prejudge and finals all in one day allowing some the newly crowned IFBB Pros the opportunity to compete in their first ever Pro show at home in Canada.
The partnership with NPC Worldwide and the IFBB Pro League does not end there. Canada will have the privilege to host the first ever Ben Weider Natural Pro/Am on September 21st, 2020. The confidence President Jim Manion has in our Canadian team to host this event with our partner Gary Udit is second to none. Holding the first ever IFBB Natural Pro League competition in the world in Canada is a testament of the respect NPC Worldwide and the IFBB Pro League has for Canada where both Ben Weider and Joe Weider, co-founders of the IFBB, were born and raised. Any Natural Amateur or Natural Pro competing at this event will be part of history.
In closing, I truly feel the Canadian Physique Alliance has brought all us together to be the premiere most recognized bodybuilding and fitness organization in Canada.
Ron Hache, President
